How it works
Simply call or email your local team with the details of your outstanding SEND teaching or support staff jobs. If you don’t already work with Axcis, one of our consultants will have an in-depth chat with you about your provision and the sort of person you’re looking for so that they can be sure to get it right for you. During the holidays, your Axcis consultant will then advertise, interview, shortlist and vet candidates on your behalf. On your return in January, you can then either review the candidates who have been shortlisted, or go straight for a trial of who we feel the most suitable person is for your role. All being well, you’ll then keep that member of staff on for your anticipated needs. However, if it doesn’t work out, you can always try other potential candidates out until you find one you want to keep. Simple!

If you’ve not worked with Axcis before then it’s understandable that you may be hesitant to trust us to fill your requirements while you are relaxing and enjoying your Christmas break. What about compliance?
Rest assured that our compliance process is second-to-none. We uphold all DfE regulations and have been audited by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation. They awarded Axcis with the “REC Audited Education Status” which means that they came to our offices, reviewed our systems and processes, looked at individual cases and decided that we have a strong vetting and compliance procedure. On top of this, we send all schools a “Vetting Sheet” which details all of the checks that have been undertaken on each of the staff members we send to them. Schools find this very helpful to keep on file for things like Ofsted visits, as well as their own peace of mind, of course.
What if we don’t have anyone suitable available?
We receive hundreds of applicants every week from SEND teachers and support staff who are looking for jobs, so it’s unlikely that we won’t be able to assist you. However, in the event that this happens, you can leave a method of communication with your Axcis consultant and they can let you know if they have been unable to find you someone suitable for your role. Be assured that they will allow plenty of time so that you can explore other avenues if this happens. Alternatively, they may be able to provide you with an interim solution to allow more time to find the perfect candidate if it’s a particularly tricky post to fill.
