Who are the people behind the phones? Our Axcis Midlands Team recently had a new addition – Nikki Jackson. Find out all about her here or get in touch with Nikki today if you need help with SEND staffing or finding a SEND job in the Midlands area.
We asked Nikki to tell us about herself – here’s what she said:
I have been working in the field of recruitment since 2016, sourcing staff for both temporary and permanent vacancies. During this time, I have learned to understand the importance of listening carefully to the needs of both candidates and clients alike in order to make effective and long-lasting matches between them.
Prior to joining Axcis, I did some voluntary work for a large special needs school in Birmingham. In this role, I provided one to one literacy and numeracy support to students with various SEND needs. I found it highly rewarding to see the progress I was helping to facilitate, and this experience has helped me to understand what traits a SEND teacher or member of support staff should have.
I also worked as an Assistant Psychologist at a brain injury unit in Birmingham Children’s Hospital for a year, where I supported adults with various cognitive and emotional difficulties.
In my spare time, I love cooking – especially baking and also enjoy exploring new cuisines and restaurants.
