8 reasons overseas teachers should consider working with Axcis

What makes Axcis different to all the other agencies out there? Why should you consider working with us, or feel secure in your choice of company if you already are? Here are 8 reasons for choosing Axcis if you are an overseas teacher keen to work with an ethical agency:

1 We work exclusively in special education

Register with Axcis and find out how we can help you find your ideal role.

Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is a broad field which requires a huge amount of knowledge and understanding in order to “get it right”. This is where we really shine at Axcis, as we keep 100% of our focus on finding only the very best people to support SEND children in mainstream and specialist settings.

2 Our charitable partnerships

Axcis is a proud sponsor & partner of several charities including the National Autistic Society (NAS). This helps us to be fully engaged with the special needs & disabilities community and to work with experts to develop resources, ideas & training. Axcis has worked with NAS to build Network Autism, an online resource where teachers can share and access resources and ideas for teaching autistic students.

3 We offer superb training opportunities

Axcis has a regular calendar of specialist courses such as Autism Awareness, Team Teach and Non-Verbal Communication to help with your continuing professional development.  Keep an eye on our social media pages or events diary to find out what we have coming up near you.

4 Our competitive rates of pay

Working in schools can be a very rewarding, but also stressful and exhausting job. At Axcis, we work hard to negotiate the best possible rates of pay for our teachers and support staff alike. We also utilise the benefits of pay systems which allow you to claim back a portion of your expenses. Every penny counts!

5 Honesty

Our consultants endeavour to provide as much information as possible about the school you are considering working in so that you can form a realistic impression of the support you are likely to have, the students you will be teaching and the area you will be working in. Not only is this essential for you to find the right role to suit your skills, personality and experience, but also to minimise disruption in classrooms as a result of staff changes.

6 A dedicated overseas consultant

At Axcis, we have a consultant dedicated to easing your transition to working in the UK. From initial help and discussions about flights and visas, to helping you work out what part of the UK education system you will best fit into, right up to handing you over to your local consultant once you arrive, they will help you every step of the way. Simply email: overseas@axcis.co.uk to initiate contact today.

7 Help with your relocation costs

Relocating to another country can be costly and at Axcis, we want to help. We will contribute up to £500 towards the cost of your flights to the UK to make the move less stressful. This will be reimbursed to you after you have worked for 20 days & provided a receipt & itinerary. Some conditions apply, so be sure to talk to us about this for further details before booking your flights.

8 We are fully compliant with safeguarding requirements

Paperwork can seem like a bit of a pain but it’s really important that schools know they are getting a new staff member who has been fully referenced and background checked. Our dedicated overseas consultant will help you to ensure that you arrive with all the correct paperwork in hand, ready to start working without delay!

If you are thinking about heading to the UK to teach why not register on our website today or get in touch by emailing overseas@axcis.co.uk.
