We had lots of lovely nominations from the schools we work with. These were all published on our blog for anyone who missed them. Selecting two winners wasn’t easy, and all nominees received a certificate of appreciation for the hard work they do, but after much deliberation, two candidates were selected to win an award and prize – here are the details:
And the winners are…
As usual, we had two winners – one for our London office and one for our Regional offices – here is a reminder of their reason for nomination, as well as what they thought about winning their awards:
Marina – working for Emma in our Bristol office
Nomination: “Following a very thorough and helpful discussion with Emma from the Bristol office, Marina was suggested to support two pupils at our school who were finding learning and social interactions particularly challenging. From day one, Marina brought experience, compassion and consistency which has really made a difference in the school. Her relationship with our pupils is outstanding and they have great respect for her. As well as supporting these pupils with their complex behaviours, she delivers
good learning and social experiences through an alternative curriculum which involves working closely with teachers, senior leaders, support staff members and external contractors such as Occupational Therapists and Forest School Leaders. Marina, who has a great sense of humour, really complements our team and we love having her work with us. She has helped us to turn our challenges into success and I am grateful to her for all that she does. Definitely ‘Candidate of the Term’ if not the year!”
How Marina felt about winning: “I felt honoured and appreciated. I’ve worked with Axcis in various schools since 2014 and it was such an incredible surprise to recieve such a commendation and generous gift. My experience at St. Mary’s has been wonderful. All the staff are lovely. They all work as a unified team to support each child, whatever their needs may be. It has been a pleasure to work with the staff at St. Mary’s. It will be difficult to leave!”
Urszula – working for Louise in our London office
Nomination: “I would like to nominate Urszula for candidate of the term as she has shown an exception level of skill in how she has enabled learning for a group of young children with complex ASD. Urszula has taken a lead in how children are taught to complete tasks at their workstations. She has worked as part of a small team to develop the learning environment, using advice from a range of professionals and the internet. However she has personalised it for the children in the class. Urszula is proactive in
how the work of the team develops, always offering ideas. The approach she takes with the parents enables them to feel informed and happy that their children are safe, cared for and learn. The children Urszula works with have all made progress from their starting points.”
How Urszula felt about winning: “I would like to thank Axcis Education agency and Ripple Primary school for awarding me as Candidate of the term. I am extremely privileged for being highlighted and I am very pleased to have an opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant with Special Needs children. Moreover I am grateful that my devotion and hard work has been appreciated.”
