On the 15th July 2016, Axcis are excited to be sponsoring the SEN South West show. Being hosted at the BAWA Club in Bristol, here are 4 reasons you should consider coming, too!
1 – Free exhibition, briefing and Teachmeet
During times of austerity, it’s always good to get something for nothing! That’s why this event offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge of SEND without spending a penny! So, even if your school are watching the CPD purse, you can still come along and pick up some valuable information to bring back to your teams. The briefing will be delivered by Andre Imich from the DfE. Andre will be talking about the latest developments at the Department for Education, so this is certainly a part of the day not to be missed. Later on, the teachmeet session will be an invaluable opportunity to share ideas with your peers from the SEND sector. If you have an idea to share, you can be allocated a 7 minute slot, but you’ll need to get in touch ASAP to arrange this with the event organisers. The exhibition will provide not only access to the latest resources, but also an opportunity to network with your peers. So, even if you don’t have the time or money to attend some of the fantastic seminars on offer, you can still get plenty out of your day with SEN South West.
2 – Inspirational keynote talks and informative seminars from national experts
Throughout the day, there will be a range of national experts sharing their research, ideas and advice on working with SEND. We’ve taken a sneak-peek at the programme, and are pleased to see that
some friends of Axcis will be there. Lorraine Petersen OBE will be talking about Assessment for children who work below national expectations. Later in the day, she will also be talking about Making the money go further. Having seen Lorraine speak on a number of occasions, we are sure that these will be presentations not to be missed! Jackie Muggleton, who we recently met at nasen Live will also be delivering seminars entitled Now I Remember! Working memory in the classroom and Creating Better Learners – Growth, Mindset and Metacognition. There are also a host of other respected SEND professionals talking, so make sure you book your seminar place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
3 – Extensive exhibition offering great learning resources and ideas to support you
Among the stands offering a range of books, practical resources and SEND services will of course be the Axcis stand! Members of our team will be on hand to discuss any SEND staffing needs you might have. If you don’t already know much about Axcis, we are the foremost suppliers of SEND
staff to mainstream and specialist schools in the UK. We have offices nationwide and work with a range of candidates, from TAs and Teachers to Therapists and School Leaders. We believe “to do well, we must do good”. This philosophy is reflected in our stringent recruitment methods and strong school relationships as well as our charitable support and partnerships. We would love to hear from you if you are looking to recruit any temporary or permanent SEND staff, or seeking employment in this sector. Axcis provides quality people for day to day cover, long-term and permanent assignments. We pride ourselves on our ability to listen to your needs and find you the right candidate, no matter how specialist your requirement. We consistently receive excellent feedback from candidates and clients alike. So – if it sounds like Axcis can help you, why not come and have a chat to us at the Axcis stand?
4 – Flexible format
The flexible format of the day allows you to pick and choose the pathway which best suits your personal and professional needs. You can choose to access just the FREE areas and drop in for a quick coffee, or you can make a day of it and take the opportunity to see highly respected professionals during the seminars which run throughout the event.
