This week, “Meet our Consultants” introduces you to Louise Grady, who is based in our London office. She covers the Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Essex areas for Axcis. Here is a bit more about her, what sort of staff she is currently looking for and how she can help you to find your next SEND teaching or support position.
Louise has been working in recruitment for the past 11 years and is a qualified recruitment practitioner with the REC. For eight years, she specialised in health and social care recruitment before deciding that education recruitment was what she wanted to do – and Louise says that she is so glad that she did!
For the past three years, Louise has been working as an SEN consultant working closely with several SEN schools and non mainstream provisions across London. She has spent days working in schools as a TA to get to know them personally and understand their specific needs. Louise also has a brother with a statement of MLD and ASD and feels that she can completely relate to the specific needs of each pupil and will always endeavour to find the right person to support them.
Louise has completed the first year of the SEND diploma and is also Team Teach trained which she feels benefits her hugely when looking for suitable staff for your school. Louise has a friendly, honest and approachable personality which allows her to form excellent relationships with both her schools and candidates alike.
What sort of schools does Louise work with?
Louise covers the following areas: Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Essex – here she works with primary, secondary and special schools, with various needs: ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Cerebral Palsy, Complex Needs, PMLD and many more.
Louise works with a large special school with several sites across East London and Essex who are always looking for staff – whether it’s just for the day, or for the rest of the year (and one can often turn into the other!) The main school specializes in SMEH but they also have specialist units for profoundly autistic students. They can offer opportunities for both teachers and TAs right across the age groups from early years right up to sixth form, and frequently take staff on permanently. They also occasionally offer the opportunity to complete teacher training at the school to interested TAs!
