Our Moving and Handling Training was a huge success!

On Wednesday 5th August Axcis were pleased to run their first ever Moving and Handling Training in association with Nash College. The day was a huge success, giving all who attended the skills required to work with individuals with physical disabilities. With increased confidence and training which will enhance any support worker’s CV, those who attended will be snapped up quickly for jobs in September (if Nash College haven’t already done so!)

What happened on the day?

From 9.30am to 12pm candidates learnt the theory behind Moving and Handling and the importance of using the training correctly when applying it to everyday life. In the afternoon they were then given the opportunity to put the theory into practice. Candidates had a chance to use slings and hoists used to move and handle people with care. They also learnt how to transport individuals safely, and more importantly how to work alone and within a team. Overall the fully booked course was a success and all candidates seemed to really enjoy the day. We look forward to offering many more Moving and Handling courses in the future!

Delegates learned techniques for safely moving others in a variety of different situations. An essential skill for those working with physical disabilities.
