Are you passionate about pursuing a career in education and want to speak to companies who can secure you your first teaching role?  Are you a graduate from another discipline looking to find out what your options are when it comes to working in education?

Axcis will be among the companies exhibiting at the Liverpool Hope University Teaching and Education Fair on the 25th February 2015. There will also be a variety of talks and workshops on the day to help graduates find their first professional role. Here is why you should come and speak to Hayley or Liz, who will be at our stand all day.

What work can we find you?

Axcis has helped thousands of education and teaching professionals to find work. Our main focus is SEND, so if you have an interest in working in a special school, or with special needs students in a mainstream school setting, come and talk to Hayley or Liz. Whether you are a qualified teacher looking for your first post, or come from another discipline and have an interest in working in schools, we can help you. The rules for completing Induction were recently amended, so that NQTs can now consider completing their probationary first year in a special school. Axcis has placed many teachers into long-term supply positions at schools prepared to support Induction, so do not feel that being a recently qualified teacher precludes you from working in this setting.

A range of special and mainstream schools

At Axcis, we work with a huge range of special and mainstream schools. If you have never considered the SEND side of the sector before, think about it carefully as this could be the right area for you.  We work with behaviour units, schools for children with profound and multiple difficulties, mainstream school SEND units, schools for moderate needs as well as hospital and young offender institutions. The range of skills and specialisms we are looking for is very broad so don’t count yourself out of SEND just because you don’t have lots of experience in this field already.

Not just teachers

The SEND sector by definition requires plenty of support staff as well as teachers. So although qualified teachers are definitely of interest to Axcis, graduates from other disciplines may also be suitable for work with us. We are always looking for people who would like to work as a teaching assistant. We can discuss your skills and background and advise you on whether you have the right attributes to be considered for work in our client schools. You’d be surprised to hear about some of the staff who have had fantastic feedback from our schools, having never done this sort of work before!

So you want to register with us?

If working for Axcis sounds like it is up your street, come and talk to Hayley or Liz at the fair. They will be able to take down some details and arrange a time for you to visit our office and complete your registration with us. If getting to the office might be difficult for you, contact the Liverpool office in advance and see if you can arrange to complete our registration paperwork at the fair.

We look forward to seeing you there!
