nasen Leadership Conference

Does the Senior Leadership Team understand the implications of the new SEND Code of Practice reforms and do they know what needs to change in your school? Are your teachers aware of the changes and do they recognise their responsibilities for identifying and supporting pupils with SEN? South Gloucestershire SENCO Conference
BAWA (British Aerospace Welfare Association, Filton

This conference is expected to receive over 150 delegates from South Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas and aims to develop skills and confidence in leading SEND in schools in light of the new legislation.
The new code of practice makes clear the SENCo’s role as the source of specialist guidance to colleagues. This conference will look at how we support our colleagues in meeting pupil’s needs in their classrooms. The key note session will focus on this challenge and will be followed by workshops that will share good practice in teaching pupils within the four areas of need. Delegates will be able to build their own pathway through the sessions to meet their own professional development.
NAS Professional Conference
March 3rd & 4th 2015
The theme for the conference this year is ‘Innovative approaches to support and intervention’. Experts on the Editorial Board have developed yet another outstanding programme, drawing together examples of best practice across the different sectors. Keynote sessions given by top international speakers, including Professor Francesca Happé and Gina Davies, will present an overview of the changing autism environment. Plus, the series of expert seminars will provide you with practical strategies to implement with your colleagues.
NAHT Conference 2015
March 12th & 13th 2015
Under the theme leading the changes: engaging learners, the NAHT 2015 conference will also incorporate the annual conference of the National Forum for Neuroscience in Education
and will therefore be of professional interest for school leaders and SENCOs from all schools and academies, mainstream, special, independent,
residential, PRUs and alternative providers. Confirmed speakers include Professor Barry Carpenter OBE; Professor Francesca Happé; Dr Rona Tutt OBE; Dr Amanda Kirby; and Russell Hobby.
NAS – Care & Treatment of Offenders with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability
April 15th & 16th 2015
This two-day conference is recognised as the foremost opportunity, in the UK and internationally, for reflection and sharing for services providing care for offenders with a learning disability (LD) and/or developmental disabilities, including autism, both in the public and independent health and social care sectors and the criminal justice system. Featuring presentations from eminent international speakers, as well as smaller scale research and innovations in the concurrent sessions, this conference will provide delegates with an opportunity to learn new strategies and share good practice.

Our Midlands branch is holding an open day for SEND educational professionals and support staff in Midlands, Birmingham and the surrounding areas who are keen on registering with Axcis to meet the team.
We look forward to meeting all teachers, support staff and teaching assistants that have recent classroom experience and have worked within an SEND setting.
