Disabled students allowance extended

THE Council for Disabled Children has highlighted that the planned reforms to the Disabled Students Allowance will no longer be made this year. In a Written Ministerial Statement, Greg Clark, Minister for Universities and Science, last week confirmed that the proposed changes were not being made for the 2015/16 academic year. The Special Educational Consortium had argued that disabled people, and the organisations that represent them, had not been properly involved in the changes being made and had called for them to be suspended.
